MultimediaAction is owned and operated by Richard Pree. I originally trained as a journalist and spent many years worked for News Limited in Sydney. I did all the usual journalism rounds such as general news, police rounds, court reporting, movie, music and game reviews, IT reporting, and higher education. I then moved into sub-editing and later, production which involved designing pages. For most of my journalistic career I worked for The Australian newspaper. I was a sub-editor, then layout editor, production editor and finally systems director. In the late 1990s I redesigned the paper and later I helped setup and design The Australian’s website and edited the site for several years. I used to annoy management by constantly harping about the web, how it wasn’t going to go away and how they should take it more seriously. I’d now like to take this opportunity to say: “I told you so” 
Forty years in Sydney is enough for anyone so I did the big treechange with my young family and now live in historic Launceston in the beautiful state of Tasmania. I host a couple of radio shows every few weeks on community radio in Launceston (City Park Radio which is streamed here), and also do occasional casual work with the dedicated and friendly folks at ABC Northern Tasmania as a producer and online reporter.
I’m in the extraordinarily happy position that I find all my work entertaining, but when I need extra distractions I enjoy reading about almost anything ending in “-ology”; composing music, and photographing, videoing and recording audio throughout the wonderful countryside of Tasmania.
